Project Details

The proposed Salt Flats solar farm will be 25.9MW and take up a fenced area of approximately 149 acres on the NW and SW Quarters of 05-19-14 of W4M. The project will contact to the distribution grid via Fortis 121S substation. The coordinates are 50°34'54.14"N, 111°54'49.13"W

Approximately 51,000 Longi LR5-72HBD-525-545M 545 Wp bifacial single-axis solar panels and 4 SMA MVPS 4600 kW inverters will be used.

The project is expected to generate enough energy to power approximately 3,859 typical Albertan households and save 20,763  tonnes of carbon annually and 540,436 tonnes over the 25-year initial lifetime of the Project.

PACE believes the proposed development is in keeping with the character of the area and makes a vital contribution to addressing the climate emergency. It will also help helping to mitigate soaring energy costs, increase local biodiversity while supporting Alberta’s rural economies.
